News from Wacken:
MORE SOUND AND NEW NAMES – FOR OUR STAGES IN THE INFIELD!
We are preparing some small and some big changes for the upcoming Wacken Open Air! The construction work from last autumn were only the first step of our investments and improvements. Today’s news is about the big stages and the sound in our infield. More news will follow soon!
The stage names:
Last year we asked you to submit suggestions to rename the Party Stage. More than 1000 suggestions reached us and they covered a huge range of ideas. Thank you for your ideas and your support! Some of the ideas were amazing! But still, none of them felt right for us. After many, many discussions, we came to the, at least for us, right idea: We need to understand our three big open air stages as one unit.

LOCKERS AT W:O:A 2017 – NOW AVAILABLE FOR HIRE!
You can now rent your locker for the upcoming Wacken Open Air! The company BigBoxBerlin will again install some of their comfortable SafeBOX containers at Wacken. The SafeBOXes are both lockers and charging stations! The renewed containers are offering lockers in two sizes. You can find them at the Entrance Wacken Center / Party Stage and the entrance Plaza / Bullhead City.

MASH-UP SPECIAL – 20 MILLION VIEWS AT WACKENTV
You made WackenTV go beyond the 20-million-views-mark – thank you very much! By now there are almost 800 clips on our YouTube channel, which can be a bit confusing. This is why we recommend to you the most historic, most beautiful and funniest clips in our mash up specials. On the occasion of the 20 million views it is today that we release the third of these specials on WackenTV.

Hamburg Metal Dayz: Final band and supporting program
It is time to present you the complete program for this year’s Hamburg Metal Dayz! Let’s start with the bands: Beyond The Black are the final act to rock Markthalle Hamburg on Saturday, September 26! These metal upstarts add their acclaimed mixture of power, symphonic and gothic metal to the sounds of W.A.S.P. and Axxis. We also can confirm the whole supporting program as well as the final Running Order with times.

M.O.D. have cancelled their tour
In the beginning of this week Billy Milano announced the end of his musical career which als led to the cancellation of the upcoming M.O.D. tour including the W:O:A performance.

4 new Metal-Battle finalists confirmed!
ITCOM, Materia, Renaissense and Scratch The Floor have won the final rounds in their home countries and will now proceed to the Metal-Battle finals at Wacken in August!

LEMMY Black Edition Steelbook – Big Raffle!
Lemmy – The Movie will be released as limited Black Edition Steelbook on DVD and Blu-Ray on May 29th!
To celebrate the upcoming release we will raffle 5 DVD and Blu-Ray editions of this awesome piece of music history.

Festival Alphabet 2015 is online!
The reworked Festival ABC for W:O:A 2015 is online. Where do I get that? Where do I have to go, if i encounter a problem at the festival? How many stages are there? Here are the answers! If you take a cloe look, you will notice one or more innovations – based on your feedback, we optimized the area, the setup and the flow of the festival once more. We will explain the innovations before the festival starts.

Our popular official Wacken Open Air app shines in a new and bright light! A completely new version of the app with new features and focus areas is ready for take-off! The app gives you access to the latest news, the complete list of bands at the event and the running order.You can also add single bands and events to your personal favorite list to get a notification right before the band hits the stage! And if you have problems to find the right stage: A detailed map of the festival area is included, too.

Wacken festival alphabet and tickets news!

Festival Alphabet 2014 is online
As always we had to change the Festival Alphabet a little for the new festival year. This year we have also reduced it to the most necessary amount of information to avoid a wall of text. Like last year it also includes a search-function to search for catch-words which will scroll you the searched segment instantly. In addition to this, the whole content of the ABC is hidden at the start to allow a faster scrolling. All categories can be opened/closed at the click of a mouse.

Ticket exchange will be closed on June 7th, 2014 – Name change is still possible!
As you might know there are 2 ways to acquire/sell a Wacken ticket after the Sold Out – the name change and the ticket exchange. The anonymized ticket exchange takes a lot of time for all parties involved. For example payments from the buyer aren´t done in time or other problems occur between the seller and buyer, so that the whole process often takes several weeks. To be able to complete all active processes in time, we will shut down the ticket exchange on June 7th, 2014. So if you want to enlist or sell a ticket through the ticket exchange please do so before June 7th.
Important: You can still rewrite your tickets to others, as the name change service will be available until about 10 days before the festival starts!
Please note, that if you are already enlisted on the waiting list, there´s still the possibility to receive a ticket through the ticket exchange – For example if another purchaser declines his request! So if you want to stay on the waiting list please click the activation link that is sent to you in regular periods!

New band announcements!
We had a lot of band announcements within the last days. With bands like Slayer, Death Angel, Hell, Van Canto or Hämatom (amongst many others) we have enlarge this years Anniversay billing once more. A complete overview of new bands can be found on our homepage.

Hamburg Metal Dayz – Dark Tranquillity will take part and the running order is online!
The last band for this year’s Hamburg Metal Dayz is no other than the Swedish melodic death metal band Dark Tranquillity! The Band was found as Septic Broiler in the late 80s and changed its name to Dark Tranquillity in 1990. Coming from thrash metal, the band developed the famous Gothenburg metal sound together with In Flames and At The Gates, which means they kick-started the melodic death metal itself. In 2013, the band released its 10th studio album, called Construct, which confirmed the status of the band once more. We’re looking forward to welcome the band at Hamburg’s Markthalle this year! The list of bands for 2014 is complete by now! You want to know the playtimes of the bands? Check out the running order, which is now online too!

Two new bands for the Full Metal Cruise II
Ahoy Metalheads,
There’s a new addition to the Full Metal Cruise II billing:
Since the 80’s Peter “Peavy” Wagner, Victor Smolski and André Hilgers of Rage are rocking the stages worldwide. Now they’re planning to rock the “Mein Schiff 1” as well. The same also applies for the legendary Axxis, who will ensure a heavy sea with their mixture of Melodic Heavy and Power Metal.
