Hi friends, we`re pleased to announce the next bands. But first the bad news. THE ACACIA STRAIN cancelled all shows in Europe – even the WFF gig.*** A wish of yours – now confirmed: BREAKDOWN OF SANITY – Metalcore from Switzerland will rock the Hardbowl stage. Another KNUPPELNACHT band confirmed – Gaahl and his infernal GOD SEED. Also confirmed: Peter Tägtgren – Death Metal Superstar will rock our stage with his band PAIN! And you`re waiting for the last headliner? Jonathan Davis, Fieldy, Ray, Head and Munky will be guests at WFF. KORN – the founders of Nu Metal from Bakersfield will play the 20th anniversary of WFF on Sunday – conserve your energy for this final! And at least a final IMPORTANT info: Based on the enormous demand on tickets and your mails we decided to open the camping area on Wednesday at 3:00 pm instead of 22:00 pm. Our friends of the DONG Open Air have news (and a new logo):
Since its very inception, the Dong Open Air has been a forum for underground metal. In 2013 the essence of over 400 international band applications is going to rock the stage on the hill. Now it does not come as a surprise that the Dong is going to host the German final of the biggest international band competition – the Wacken Metal Battle!
The semifinalists Aeons Confer from Hamburg and J.T. Ripper from Chemnitz are going to battle at the DOA right In front of you in order to make it to the international final at the Wacken Open Air. Check out the new band profiles and be there when symphonic dark metal gets into the ring with raw thrash metal!
To get you guys into the mood, we’ll throw in one free drink per band for our big Dong Competition and again one more for the victory party (that makes three in total)! How do you take part in this nifty competition, you may ask? Just sign up for the newsletter!
