Summer Breeze – Updates 2018 – NEWS AND IMPROVEMENTS

Come To The SUMMER BREEZE Open Air!

We would like to start with a big thank you. You gave us extensive feedback through all channels after the 2017 festival. Your feedback is extremely valuable to us as we constantly try to improve the festival and iron out mistakes. And 80,000 eyes clearly see more than 20.
The sanitary situation was admittedly “crappy” in some places last year. That’s why we have completely redesigned and expanded the overall concept with our longtime partner SANI. The number of toilets will be increased by at least 35% over the entire festival area and the placement will be optimized. In the infield you will now find free flushable toilets and fresh water at all stations. The number of urinals is also significantly increased. The Shit & Shower Stations are equipped with a solid floor in the outdoor area. In addition, at your request, we have converted to single cabins with coat hooks. The SANI company has promised a smooth process for 2018 in emptying and cleaning of the sanitary facilities. The price for the Shit ‘n‘ Shower Flat (12 €) will not be increased.

A new attraction will be created for the camping site: The Ficken Party Stage will provide the area around the festival supermarket with content. In the morning you can treat yourself to a traditional, Bavarian weisswurst breakfast. In the afternoon, the Rock’n’Roll Wrestling Bash, the Fantasy Filmfest and a cool band program will provide the entertainment. At night it’s party time with DJ sets from Radio Bob, Metal.de and Ficken Partyschnaps!

The Camel Stage shines with new splendor in 2018:
After last year we put together our Main and Pain Stages into an unusual Main Stage, as well as giving the T-Stage a face lift, this year there will also be a new Camel Stage.

We have redesigned the whole area of the old Camel Stage and fit it with a significantly bigger stage. The stage will be wrapped in a kind of open tent – a so called paragu – in a visually appealing way, and the capacity will be raised compared to previous years. This way, the renovated Camel Stage will be able to host up to 5,000 people. Due to the paragu’s open layout, it provides an optimal view from three sides. This way we’re making sure that – after the T-Stage tent falls away – there is a stage with sun and rain protection (the latter of which will hopefully not be necessary). The reverse conclusion is that, with a bigger capacity, bigger bands will be playing on the Camel Stage, but don’t worry, the underground and its hopeful newcomers will always have a place here as well.

We will announce which bands will be playing the completely renovated Camel Stage area when we publish the rest of the running order in time before the festival.

Access to the area in front of the Main Stage is again possible from both sides this year.

Power for your phones is a point that has also been mentioned very often in your feedback. This year, we can offer four solutions: Globalcharger offers a Power Bank loan service that allows you to charge your mobile phone. BE Support GmbH will set up their stand near the grocery store and have battery cases on loan for a fee to power your camp. The startup THE HELIA from the Netherlands will fit a number of sunshades on the site with solar panels that feed a charging module to which you can connect your phones. Lockers, similar to last year, will again be provided by Carderobe.
