Carcass and Behemoth confirmed for FortaRock 2014

UK legends Carcass and Polish metallers Behemoth are confirmed for FortaRock 2014!

The legendary band Carcass is often regarded as the founder of a number of subgenres of heavy metal. It is the album “Heartwork” that brought them most of the fame however. It was a radical change of course for the band. The melodious death metal on this album is among the best and most progressive that the British have created: misleadingly simple compositions with complex structures and – especially for the genre – remarkably clear production. With “Surgical Steel”, their first record since 1996, Carcass has struck gold again. The album rocks and is heavy only where it should be: an impressive comeback!

Polish band Behemoth has an impressive repertoire, spanning almost twenty years, and is hailed universally by death and black metal fans alike. Bombast, technique, insolence and rawness have all become synonymous with Behemoth. In 2010 vocalist Adam ‘Nergal’ Darski was diagnosed with leukemia and the band’s continued existence was at stake. Nergal managed to overcome the illness successfully however and is currently working on a new album with his band members. Expectations are high, not in the least because of Nergal’s own words on it: “Expect the best…we are hungrier than ever!”
