WFF Newsletter – Anniversary list is updated!

Hello friends, the huge birthday party of your favourite festival is getting closer and closer, and the last slots are yet to be filled. Here are the candidates who have just confirmed and want to help destroying the birthday cake: The congratulants ALL THAT REMAINS are bringing melodic metalcore from Springfield/Massachusetts with them. For the first time on stage at the Full Force they’re shooting their heavy stuff onto the folk. We are glad that it finally worked!***Headbangers with masks – everyone is thinking of Slipknow. But also in Germany, especially in Franconia, there is a band that sets great value upon their music and is therefore performing completely masked: There is talk of HÄMATOM, the trash metal – and „Neue Deutsche Härte“ –band. And the band members with the name Nord, Ost, Süd und West have planned to fire you up properly.***He became famous as bassist of the legendary Metallica. In the meantime, Jason Newsted is concentrating on his solo career and he is having a new own band ready: NEWSTED. One more reason for us to invite this very new project to our anniversary.***HC post punk, new school hardcore – whatever you may call it, but the Swedes of RAISED FIST are swinging their heavy racket and only that counts. Also being a guest at the WFF for the first time, the old Swedes are bringing their axe with them to hack the candles on the cake into pieces. No armpits will remain dry.***Unfortunately there are bad news from the house of BARONESS: The band have cancelled all their planned and also already confirmed Europe gigs due to health reasons. Dong 2013 – Soulfly and four more!

Good news from Dong 2013:
Ladies and Gentlemen!
A quick heads up to begin with: Up until Wednesday you can get your ticket to the Winter Party at the reduced pre-sale price! Get your ticket or ticket/t-shirt bundle now to get a great deal!
And now for the truly important stuff: If you rocked out to Sepultura last year or still think they were so much better when Max Cavalera was still around, you shall be happy! Soulfly will play at the Dong! The Brazilian-American thrash and nu metal legend among whose outspoken fans are people like Dave Grohl, are looking forward to a quaint show up on the hill – back to the primitive! We’d also like to present you some of the selected and best applications we have received for 2013: Superbutt form Hungary are going to enchant you with some smoking alternative rock and a voice like no other. Kadavrik from Wesel, Germany will serve you outstanding melo death, while Fyrnreich from Cologne, Germany invite for a pagan feast with mead and beer. Act of Worship are also from Cologne, but are much less inclined to associated with mead drinking, but rather with bloody butchery. Check out the info and audio material of the bands on our website. We’ll keep working on setting a beautiful and diverse metal table for you!

Dong ticket sale starts today at 12 noon!

Starting today, at 12 noon, the ticket sale for the thirteenth Dong Open Air is going to start. The festival will take place from July 11th to July 13th and tickets never last long. Make sure you get your ticket for €44.99 including parking and camping. The Dong Open Air will continue to be a true heavy metal bargain, providing you with high-class brand beer for only €2 per 0.5l. Of course, you can already stock up on beverage vouchers when buying your ticket.
