Our last band confirmation for SUMMER BREEZE 2015 sets a huge exclamation mark under an already killer billing: OPETH!
The prog vanguardists led by musical genius Mikael Akerfeldt finally return to Dinkelsbühl after their last appearance in 2009. The unique melange of the death metal sound of their early days and the progressive metal/rock that dominates their latest releases is carried by an incomparable atmosphere, a palpable depth and their frontman’s unequalled vocals. Growls meet warm clean vocals, harsh riff attacks encounter fragile, melancholic moments. That’s how the Swedes made it to an incredible # 3 in the German charts with their latest output ‘Pale Communion’, a success most of their peers can only dream of. We want to expressly advise you only to purchase tickets for SUMMER BREEZE Open Air directly from us, from the official pre-sale outlets or through our Print@Home system, as the sale of counterfeit tickets in general has increased in the last few years! We strongly discourage from buying concert tickets on (dubious) internet platforms or from ticket touts outside the festival site. The reworked Festival ABC for W:O:A 2015 is online. Where do I get that? Where do I have to go, if i encounter a problem at the festival? How many stages are there? Here are the answers! If you take a cloe look, you will notice one or more innovations – based on your feedback, we optimized the area, the setup and the flow of the festival once more. Deathcore? Modern death metal? Death metal with metalcore influences? No matter what you call it, one thing is for sure: THY ART IS MURDER kill! The rabid Aussies have already pummelled us with two albums to date. And if you make a simple rule of proportion based on the first snippets of the new material, there is only one possible answer: You better start making appointments for reconstructive surgery, because when THY ART IS MURDER are done with us, we will look worse than Darth Vader’s crushed helmet in the new Star Wars trailer. Bone-dry riffs, brutal staccato attacks, vocals straight from hell and mountains of hate pulverise every single cervical vertebra, before the band pull the teeth form our gums with their sophisticated melodies. Get ready for a display of what heaviness and brutality have to sound like in 2015. THY ART IS MURDER will come to destroy!
KYLE GASS BAND
Kyle Gass? Doesn’t ring a bell? Sit down! Failed! Kyle Gass is one half of Tenacious D, who has gone into business for himself with the KYLE GAS BAND, in order to adequately fill the gaps in the calendar of his almighty main band.
So we are looking forward to welcoming him and his four bandmates at SUMMER BREEZE 2015, where he will present the songs of his rocking self-titled debut album. And the KYLE GASS BAND’s musical direction is perfect for the summer. One after another, Kyle Gass and his competent backing band shoot singalong and party compatible songs from the hip. His compositions have a certain southern (hard) rock flair and bare a lightness that will be a welcome change between all the heavy metal bolides at SUMMER BREEZE. This is the perfect soundtrack for the highway, the beer-soaked barbecue AND the summer open air festival!
Traveling to SUMMER BREEZE by public transport
For all those who are not using a car, we have compiled all the relevant information in a PDF file in order to make your journey by bus and rail as easy as possible. Mondial Reisen, who have already provided their bus shuttle services in the last few years, will maintain their service to the airports and main train stations in Stuttgart, Nurenberg and Ulm. This could be of interest to all those traveling to SUMMER BREEZE 2015 via Munich. More information on getting to the festival and about Mondial Reisen’s expanded shuttle service can be found HERE. All information is provided by the repective transport company – no responsibility is taken for the correctness of this information.
ATTENTION:
This year there won’t be any special services from Ansbach / Feuchtwangen provided by the public transport authority any more. Unfortunately our hands are tied in this respect, which is why we advise you to travel via Crailsheim and Ellwangen. The regular services from Ansbach will obviously operate normally…Have a good trip!

Hello friends, and again we can announce two new bands: The party band no. 1 of last year and the heroes of Saturday night ESKIMO CALLBOY will play one of their few open air gigs in 2015 for you. The crazy metal – trancecore heroes from Castrop-Rauxel know like no other band from our latitudes how to ecstasize and keep the mass moving at the same time. They’re mixing hip hop, are not afraid of an N’Sync cover and basically do want they want. Or rather WHAT YOU WANT!!! Guys, use your strength wisely, on Saturday the mainstage will be boarded and the Dübener Heide will be earthshaken! *** Another new arrival are a band called DESTRAGE from Mailand who are not fitting into a drawer at all unless it’s called „awesome metal“! It’s all about mixing, trying and putting together – and the results are just epic. But find out for yourselves, definitely check out these lunatics!!! *** Soon we’ll be back with more news. Hello friends, right before Easter we’re putting 2 new eggs in the line up basket! On one side the absolute death metal cult – the old school pioneers of MASTER are playing at the WFF live for the first time! The band who was founded in 1983 by Paul Speckmann belongs among bands like Morbid Angel and Death to the co-founders of the death metal scene. It’s a shame actually that it took us until today to present you this extraordinary band. *** And maybe in 20 years you can tell similar great things about the following band from the Ruhr area: BURNING DOWN ALASKA with their unique melodic style are certainly a band of the future in the new wave hardcore genre! You should definitely check out those five from Recklinghausen – they’re kicking ass! *** Very soon we’re announcing new names again, we keep on working hard on your holiday entertainment program. 🙂 Until then we wish you nice Easter holidays!
