53 NEW BANDS FOR THE EASTER HOLIDAYS!
For today’s Sunday we have prepared a packed Easter nest – 53 new bands are joining the lineup.
The new bands cover a wide range of genres and besides old friends like Saxon, Axxis, Unleashed or the latest project of Alestorm mastermind Christopher Bowes, we also signed many exciting newcomers.

Our friends of the DONG Open Air have news:
We have applied to the ‘Ministry for Family, Children, Youth, Culture and Sport’ for an attractive cultural sponsorship for the anniversary Dong Open Air 2020.
The officials do not distribute money indiscriminately, of course, but make their decision only after an examination. While we don’t want to offend anyone, but if you look at the past funding, you might think that a metal festival might seem a bit ‘out there’. So it would be advantageous for us if we could present ourselves as a bit more sophisticated.
For this reason, the festival will be accompanied by several photographers and a small film team, who will hopefully capture many beautiful moments, which we would like to add to our application. But we don’t want to rely on that alone.
That’s why we asked all bands to wear casual evening attire and would like to ask you ourselves.
Cut-offs with patches are of course completely OK for a festival. But for our ‘advertising photos’ it’s not necessarily the image we would like to convey. Of course the area in front of the stage is especially interesting for this kind of photos and will therefore be closed off to an ‘Inner Circle’. The principle is probably known, with a short evaluation of your appearance, our crowd managers regulate the access to the front rows.
To make the festival go a bit smoother, you can book the Inner Circle Tickets for 15€ from Wed. 12 o’clock at noon on. In this case the evaluation will be cancelled.
We hope, of course, that you will not only show a little understanding for this unique measure, but that you will also adjust your clothing a little. Of course nobody expects a suit and a tie, but probably everyone will have something nice in their wardrobe.

26 NEW BANDS FOR WACKEN OPEN AIR 2019!
Today we can announce another wave of bands for upcoming Wacken Open Air 2019! A total of 26 bands join the lineup today. At this point we want to pay special attention to three acts that have never been seen in Wacken before:
Uriah Heep
Since 1969 Uriah Heep have been on the road without any notable break and the Hard Rock band has sold more than 40 million records during this time. And yet they have never made it to Wacken. Now this will finally change! Look forward to hits like Easy Livin’, Lady in Black or July Morning.
Hellhammer performed by Tom Warrior’s Triumph of Death
Tom Warrior dedicates his project Triump of Death to the songs of his legendary band Hellhammer. Hellhammer only existed between 1982 and 1984, but the great influence Black and Death Metal can not to be argued away.
Monster Magnet
In 2018, Monster Magnet released their 10th studio album, called Mindfucker. Obviously, the name would have been a perfect match for all of the band’s previous albums too. Since 1989 the US-Americans have been delivering on a high level – and we can’t wait for their Wacken debut!

Our friends of the DONG Open Air have news:
We are finalizing the billing for the Dong 2019 with a last grand quadruple announcement to back up Steel Panther, Alestorm, Kataklysm, et al.:
Deserted Fear, the hottest death metal shit from Thuringia, or quite possibly the whole republic, are joining our headliner ensemble to give the tent a good shake!
Solar Fragment from Dortmund play the best power metal just the way the world knows and appreciates it from Germany. No surprise that our neighbor Hansi Kürsch contributed to one of their songs!
Deathcode Society are the Channel Tunnel of symphonic black metal. The Franco-British band will compress the Dong hill with high speed blasts and smooth it all up with epic keyboards. A mandatory event for all the restless friends of Dimmu Borgir!
And finally back again to Thuringia: After Goethe and Schiller, Victim are doubtlessly the figureheads of Weimar’s Sturm and Stress. The thrashers take no prisoners and fans of James Hetfield’s early vocals might just start to swoon!
Apart from the two finalists of the German W:O:A Metal Battle, this completes our lineup for the Dong 2019! Find audio samples and information of the stars and insider tips we collected between L.A. and New Delhi in the band profiles we carefully put together for you.
Chances are that there won’t be tickets available at the festival weekend. So just get yours right now and get a head start on looking forward to three days of summer, sun, and sound carousal on our classy Mount Moshmore!
